How long will it take for my champagne to be chilled?
Many times our vehicles are used to support catering
at parties and weddings. We are often asked how long drinks should be in
a vehicle before they will be chilled and ready to serve.
The simple answer is as long as possible but we recommend 24 hours.
Although all our vehicles have powerful refrigeration systems and the
cab controller should indicate +2C in less than an hour, this will be
air temperature and not the actual product.
There are a number of factors that affect how quickly items loaded at
ambient temperature will take to achieve chilled such as the packaging
and the initial temperature of the drink. Cases of wine will give off
heat faster if not stacked closely to eachother. Setting the fridge
controller to -10C may also help remove the heat more quickly but this
may start to freeze bottles on the edge of the load after a few hours.
